Following a series of pilot sessions with young adults from Young Devon, funded by the council's sustainable communities fund, further funding has been secured to offer woodland wellbeing sessions to other local adult groups from September 2024. The funding is specifically for groups of people who would otherwise struggle to access our local wild spaces. Those perhaps socially isolated, vulnerable or struggling with their mental or physical health.
Sessions will be held on Thursdays and last 3 hours. Activities can be tailored to the needs and interests of the group but might include fire lighting and cooking, bushcraft, nature art, flora & fauna explorations and mindfulness experiences.Â
Assuming funding can be secured for the whole year*, we are looking for more eligible groups to benefit from these sessions. Please contact Hope (07855 253457 / tothewoodsfs@gmail.com) to discuss.
*We are looking for some extra funding to guarantee these sessions year round. If you are able to help with funding or could suggest a suitable fund to apply for, we would love to hear from you.
